Pittsburgh's Soul Food Festival honors and celebrates the long rich history of Entrepreneurship and the Black Food Service industry in Pittsburgh starting in the late 18th and early 19th centuries in Downtown Pittsburgh.
On September 4th, 2021, We were proud to persuade Pittsburgh's City County and Allegheny County Council to designate 3rd avenue as Pittsburgh's Black Wall Street based on the Black Business Owners and Producers who started Restaurants and the first African American butchery on 3rd avenue in the 1700s.
Once a year, we meet at Market Square, set up tents and tables and proceed with the lip-smacking exercise of good eating! With families, vendors, music and plates, it is a great time for all. Next year, be sure to join us for some of the regions best Soul Food Caters and Restaurants and small business vendors.
